About The Hawaii Facilitators' Playshop
The annual Hawaii Facilitators’ Playshop provides beginning and advanced facilitators with over 50 hours of training experience using the established drum circle facilitation techniques identified and described by Arthur Hull. Arthur’s books, Drum Circle Spirit: Facilitating Human Potential Through Rhythm and Drum Circle Facilitation: Building Community Through Rhythm provide the foundation for the curriculum used in this course.
Using a variety of musical activities and instruments, participants will learn the steps necessary to successfully facilitate multiple types of rhythm events. Facilitators will learn how to apply a variety of specific rhythm activities and orchestration techniques to lead diverse groups and unique populations through a musical experience.
The program format will include group instruction, demonstrations, and discussions combined with many hours of small group activities using movement, voice, musical instruments and improvisational rhythm games. Critique and feedback for the participant are an important part of the learning process. More
