Level 2 Intensive Facilitator Training

Intermediate & Advanced Rhythm Facilitation Skills

Camp Mokuleia, Oahu, Hawaii: August 10–16, 2009

Advanced Techniques • Philosophies • Community Networking

This week-long training provides experienced DCFs an intensive opportunity to explore facilitation techniques in-depth with other intermediate and advanced facilitator participants. Previous VMC facilitation training provides the platform for Level 2 development of intermediate and advanced Drum Circle Facilitator (DCF) skills.

As part of the Hawaii Playshop, the Level 2 training gives participants frequent opportunities to interact with the entire Hawaii training community. Level 2 provides DCFs a separate training track designed to challenge their level of community facilitation skill, knowledge and experience.

Participants in the Level 2 training will have opportunities for advanced practice and exploration of facilitation technique, personal style and community-building philosophies. Peer group support and advanced critique are an important aspect of this training.

Program Content

in 50 hours of training, Level 2 participants will have extensive practice opportunities in advanced facilitation techniques, philosophies and community building strategies. Facilitators will participate in Level 2-specific breakout groups that provide exercises designed to develop and refine their existing facilitation skills. Level 2 includes advanced discussion groups designed to stimulate knowledge and perspective about rhythm community building and drum circle facilitation. Level 2 presentations and discussions on professional development for DCFs will be offered during the week.
